Rock the River Wakeboard & Music Festival

On the 7th, 8th & 9th August 2009 Rock the River Is Back!!!

After the great success of Rock the River 2008 the event is returning for its second year. Due to the fantastic support of last years sponsors and the demand from local businesses and the general public the Rock The River team have pleasure in announcing a rerun for summer 2009.

For those of you who were unfortunate enough not to make it to Rock The River 2008, the event is a wakeboard and music festival on Conwy Quay showcasing the best british and international riders but also orientated towards a family weekend.

Only one weekend a year does the Harbour Master allow the Rock The River boats to exceed the speed restriction in the harbour. The wakeboarding takes place right in front of Conwy Castle and quay making for one of the highlights of the much coverted Conwy River Festival in association with Conwy Council.

The Wakeboard event is spread over two days and the competition is heating up for this year along with the other open events.

There are also many other fun things to do; with rides for the kids, sampling of fine local foods available from the stalls and the opportunity to relax, have a drink and watch the competition in the picturesque town of Conwy.

On the Saturday night the music showcase begins with headline acts including The Dub Pistols Soundsystem featuring Rodney P, Lindy Layton, Scratch DJ Realm and Tom Bone as well as DJ Aim!! Details of all the acts can be found right here in the pages of this website!! This year there will also be a market area on the quay with stalls and various exhibitors.

This year the competition is looking bigger and better with local and international wakeboarders battling it out for the cash prizes. The aim for this year is pure entertainment and so we've stepped it up a level and want to see some bigger air and more challenging dangerous obstacles with the riders really pushing each other's ability over the weekend.

The event is again sponsored by MasterCraft boats, giving it that extra credo!! Those who know have a MasterCraft!!
